Della Opal Burks, 92
Funeral services for Della Opal Burks of Fordland were held Monday, Dec. 2, 2002, at the Preston Marsh Funeral Home in Rogersville. Burial followed in the Fordland Cemetery.
Mrs. Burks, 92, died at 3:35 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2002 at the Ozark Riverview Manor in Ozark.
She was born Sept. 3, 1910 in Dogwood to John and Gertrude Bowers Swearengin.
On Jan. 5, 1930, she was married to Guy Clarence Burks, who preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1973.
She was a longtime member of the Fordland First Baptist Church.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, along with three brothers, and a sister, Bill, Fred, Everett, Roy and Ira Swearengin and Esta Roberson.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Lloyd and Deanna Burks and Floyd and Betty Burks, all of Fordland; one daughter, Betty Jean Wheeler and husband Charles, Highlandville, five grandchildren, Linda Lundgren, Mike Burks, Deborah Beattie, Michael and Eric Tillman; 10 great-grandchildren, April Sheffield, James George, Jr., David Burks, Josh Burks, Ashley Burks, MacKenzy Lurvey, Brooks Beattie, Alyssa Tillman, Kensi Tillman and Kelsie Tillman; five great-great-grandchildren, Adilyn Burks, Hunter Burks, Braden Sheffield, Brenna Sheffield, and Nichaela George and a sister-in-law, Alene Hoy of Marshfield.
