James Alexander, aged 82, died at is home here Sunday morning at 6:30, after an illness of several weeks duration.
Deceased was first married to Susie Brewster, from which union several children were born being Messrs. T.J., Joe, George and Ike of this county, and John of Texas, Mesdames Sarah Saling of Texas and Polly Crabtree of Cooper. Mesdames Bell Marcum and Nancy Rice, both of whom are dead.
On August 16, 1894, he was married to Martha Delk, who survives him.
Mr. Alexander had been a member of the Christian Church for fifty years. The funeral services were conducted by the Rev. B.F. Sanders at the Alexander cemetery, Sunday afternoon.
