Harry Heidebrecht was born in Corn, Ok. He was the fifth of six children born to Carl and Tena (Boese) Heidebrecht.

In 1951 he married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy Vogt, and they moved to Fresno where he attended Pacific Bible Institute (now Fresno Pacific University).

At age 21 Harry began his life ministry as a pastor. Over the next 30 years he served the Lakeside Community Church in Hanford, Ca., the Evangelical Free Church in Fresno, Ca. and the Evangelical Free Church in Fremont, Ca. In 1984 he was appointed Assoc. Superintendent and Church Planter for the Western District of the Evangelical Free Church. For the past 18 years he served as founder and director of Church Assistance Ministry (CAM), recruiting volunteers to work on building projects so that the money raised could be given to meet a variety of church and missionary needs.

Harry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He made everyone who knew him feel like family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Allan; and his son-in-law, Jim Van Hovel.

Harry is survived by his wife Dorothy; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and David Hagenbach; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Chuck Kelley; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Tracy Heidebrecht; daughter and son-in-law, Frieda and Randy Vogel; sisters, Edna Heidebrecht and Vera Flaming; sister-in-law, Martha Heidebrecht; brother and sister-in-law, John and Joyce Heidebrecht; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Walter Heinrichs; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Thursday, May 8, 2008, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Bridge Evangelical Free Church in Fresno on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 11:00 a.m.
