Edith was the daughter of Samuel Yarian and Anna Elizabeth Croft.

Edith E. Abell, 88, of rural Roann, Indiana died Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 2:30 am, at the Wabash Skilled Care Center in Wabash. She was born September 7, 1919 in Miami County, Indiana to Samuel and Anna (Croft) Yarian.
She married Robert W. Abell on November 9, 1940 in Lebanon, Kentucky. He died February 20, 2008.
Edith was a graduate of Warsaw High School. She was a member of Roann First Brethren Church, a former member of the Stitch and Chatter Home Economics Club, a member and past Worthy Matron of the Roann Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Roann Matrons Club. Edith enjoyed birds, gardening, and mushroom hunting. She and her husband lived on the farm in rural Roann since 1940.
She is survived by two sons, Darryl Abell of Peru and Dale (Ursula) Abell of Roann; two grandsons, Phillip (Kristi) Abell of Newburgh, Indiana and William Abell of Roann. She was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 335 S. Chippew Road, Roann, on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Phil Medsger officiating. Burial will be in Roann Community Cemetery, Roann. Friends may call 4-8 pm, Tuesday, April 22 and one hour prior to the service, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
