James Henry Alberson was born 22 September 1869 to Joshua M. and Harriett Williamson Alberson. He married Laura Alice Marker on 8 July 1897 in Wells County, Indiana. There were fifteen children born of this union. He and Alice also raise her niece Lucinda Opal Smith, daughter of Mary Leticia Marker Smith and Harvey Anthony Smith.
