Heinrich Wilhelm Aufderhaar was born in Ladbergen, Westphalia, Prussia, son of Johan Heinrich (1809-1882) and Elisabeth Anna (Fiegenbaum) (1811-1884) Aufderhaar.
He married Christina Sophie Elsabein Schoppenhorst (1837-1877) 22 Aug 1856 in Warren County, MO. The marriage was recorded in Immanuels UCC records: Heinrich Wilhelm Aufder Har and Sophia Christina Elisabeth Schoppenhorst-Stilke, both of Teklenburg. Witnesses were Heinrich AufderHar and Ludwig Stilke [step-father of Sophia].
