Charles Edward "Ed" Akers, age 73, of Fulton, Missouri died Sunday, September 20. 1992 in his home.
He was born March 8, 1919, in Dent County, Missouri, the son of Wesley and Bessie (Plater) Akers. He married Abbie Ruth (Butcher) Akers in Mokane, Missouri on February 20, 1956. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include Charles (Bonnie) Akers of Steedman, Missouri, Clifford (Laura) Akers of Licking, Missouri, Roy Young of Fulton, Missouri, Diamond (Doris) Young and Mike (Sally) Lagesse, all of Mexico, Missouri; eighteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, three brothers, Tom Akers of St. Louis, Missouri, Bill Akers and Ben Akers, both of Licking, Missouri; one sister, Hazel Gerrard of New Bloomfield, Missouri; two special people, Marion Burke of Fulton, Missouri and Linda Lolman of Jefferson City, Missouri; a number of other relatives and friends.
He was preceeded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Akers and Gene Wells; a sister, Ruby Wells and two grandchildren.
He was a member of the Reform Babtist Church and had owned and operated a sawill for many years in Reform, Missouri.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm today at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Lewis Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Steedman Cemetary. Visitation was conducted Monday at the funeral home.
