Famous inventor: At least 38 Patents. Among his inventions was the first wire-guided torpedo, 1874 (Patent on September 4, 1877), which was adopted by Britain. He also invented a gyro-monorail in 1903; and an early helicopter.

While on vacation in Montreux, he was hit by an automobile on December 26, 1931 and later died from the injuries. He was buried on January 26, 1932.

His parents were Thomas Brennan & Bridget McDonnell.

On September 10, 1892 he married Anna Louise Quinn ( Died in 1931 ).

New headstone for Louis Brennan is being dedicated on Tuesday 11 March 2014 by Taoiseach Enda Kenny at St Marys Kensal Green, London. "Open to the Public" 11:30am. Previously no headstone exsisted.MC
