C. E. Merchant Died Nov. 18th
Services for Charles Edwin Merchant, 84, were held Saturday, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m at the Walker Funeral Chapel, Snyder, and burial was made in Fairlawn cemetery with Walker Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Allan Van, Church of Christ minister from Oklahoma City and E. E. Mitchell officiated.
An early day resident of Snyder, he was born Aug 8, 1875, in Terre Houte, Indiana, and died November 18 in a Norman hospital, after several weeks illness. He was married to Miss Josie Nunn in 1904.
In the early 1940's the family moved to Oklahoma City where they now reside.
Survivors are the wife Josie of 1821 N. W. 9th, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Mrs. Zelma Downs, 2927 Vermont and Mrs. Hallie Shackleford, 4029 N.W. 29th, both of Okla. City, and three sons: J. J. Merchant, 3915 N. Portland, Oklahoma City, Chester of Chicago, Ill., and Glenn of Yuma, Arizona, and 10 grandchildren and 4 great grand children.
