James Harding Nix, 49, passed away suddenly on May 10, 2007. Jim was born in Natick, Massachusetts, the son of Harding and Blanch (Schmerbauch) Nix. When he was five, his family moved to Claremont, New Hampshire. He attended St. Mary's Grammar School, Claremont Junior High School, and Stevens High School, graduating in 1975.

Jim was currently employed as the Primary Maintenance person at McDonald's in Claremont. He formerly worked at Homestead Industries for twenty years. Co-workers said he kept the place running because he knew how to fix all the machines. He also worked for Sullivan Foundry and Sullivan Palatek.

Jim was a great son, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved watching NASCAR races (he was especially a fan of Dale Earnhardt, look at his hat!), going to yard sales, 4-wheeling, feeding the birds around his home, his dog, Coco, and playing practical jokes. He also loved fixing anything mechanical, especially cars. We weren't "allowed" to take our cars to the mechanic, he had to fix them for us. The last car he worked on was his brother's demolition derby car, which won first place shortly after Jim's passing.

Members of his surviving family include his mother and father of Claremont; a sister, Judith Ann and her husband, Herbert; a brother, Charles and his significant other Betty; two nieces, Lindsay and Laurel and a nephew, Christopher; several great-nephews; uncles, aunts, cousins, and many friends.

Jim is greatly missed by his family and friends. Not for his ability to fix things, but just because he was Jim.

Jim's dog, Coco, joined him in heaven on June 7, 2009.
