WILL OF SAMUEL BROWN Jan 26, 1850 Pound Ridge, Westchester Co NY; In the name of God, Amen. I, SAMUEL BROWN, of the town of Pound ridge in the county of Westchester and state of New York, being of sound disposing mind and memory, do make an publish this my last will and testament, in manor and form following, that is to say

--First, I order and direct my executors herein after named, to pay all my just debts, funeral expenses and the expenses of settling my estate.

--Second, I give and bequeath to y beloved wife REUHAMAH all my household furniture, and three hundred dollars.

--Third, I give and bequeath to my son AARON BROWN, during his natural life, the use, benefit and occupancy of the farm on which h now lives, situated in the town of Stamford, bounded northerly by land of Richard Cox, easterly & southerly by land of Edwin Scofield, and Westerly by the highway leading from Pound Ridge to Darien, and after the death of my said son AARON, then the above mentioned farm to be divided equally among his children.

--Fourth, I give and bequeath the remainder of my property, both real and personal, to my other five children, to be divided equally among them, to share and share alike, that is to say, one fifth part to my son SANDY, one fifth part to my daughter CLARISSA, wife of CHARLES G. BETTS, one fifth to POLLY, wife of SIMEON DIBBLE, one fifth to HARRIET, wife of ABSOLEM SHERWOOD, and one fifth part to ELIZA, wife of D. W. C. CARPENTER; with this express condition that they accept it peaceably, but if either of ten commands litigation about the division of my property if is my will that his or her share shall be divided equally among my other children.

--Fifth, I hereby nominate and appoint my son SANDY BROWN and my friend WILLIAM LOCKWOOD executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all other and former wills, by me made.
