Julia B. Gwynn, 71, formerly of Broad View in Fairmont, died Saturday morning at the Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling. She was born Nov. 7, 1911 in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Hugh and Ella Thomas Ball. Her husband Lawrence J. Gwynn, preceded her in death in 1970.

She is survived bu one daughter, Miss Diane Gwynn of Wheeling; one son, David Lawrence Gwynn of Washington, Pa, one sister Mrs. Mary Noechel of Fairmont; four grandchildren, David, Jay, Susan and Beth Gwynn; and two great grandchildren.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fairmont. She was a former member of the Major William Hamond Chapter of the Daughters of the American Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a former member of the Fairmont Women's Club and a former member of the Fairmont General Hospital Auxiliary.

Friends may call at the Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, from 1-9 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. James Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
