Mr. Collins was the son of the late Norman Ray Collins and Ruby May Knotts Collins. On FEb. 9, 1962, he married Judy Arlene Purdhamm who preceded hin in death May 2, 2004.
He is survived by two daughters, Alison Blythe Collins of Luray, VA, and Sharon Lee Kenaston of Chattanooga, TN; three sisters, Colleen Swearinger of Franklin, Wanda Huff of Elizabeth City, NC, and Vanetta Barston of Petersburg, and a grandchild.
He attended the schools of Tucker County, was a salesman and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Lions Club of Alexandria, VA.
