Mrs. Sarah A. Long, born in Alabama in the year 1832. At the age of 16 she was united in marriage to Mr. Laird and moved to Florida and at the age of 86 she died at the home of her son-in-law March 8th. In the year 1869 she joined the Primitive Baptist church at Gum Creek, Fla., while Elder J. F. Watson was the pastor of that circuit, and ever since that day she was a faithful member. She was probably one of the best known women of this section and memory of this grand old lady will live anew many years after her soul has flown home to its Maker.
