Minnie Irene Hirshey was born on September 10, 1910. She married Orville Willis "Bill" Capps on December 25, 1932 in Stark City, Missouri.

They were the parents of 4 children: Allan Capps, Rosalie Yvonne Capps (died July 23 1964),Nelda Jane Capps Musser Warren, and Gerald Capps.

She will be buried next to her husband in Pepsin, Missouri.

Minnie Irene Capps, age 98, of Joplin, passed away at 1:20 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2008, at National Healthcare following a long illness. Minnie was born on March 10, 1910, in Reeds, Mo., the daughter of the late Albert Edward and Artie (Harmon) Hirshey. She has been a lifetime area resident. She married Orville W. "Bill" Capps on Dec. 25, 1932. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage together and raised four children. He preceded her in death in July of 1988. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Rosalie Capps in 1963; six brothers, Lloyd, Glen, Roy, Ralph, Lee and John Hirshey; and two sisters, Alta Bryan and Jewell Bass. Minnie was a member of the Church of Christ, at 26th and Connecticut. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing and all types of crafts. She is survived by one daughter, Jane (Capps) Warren and husband, Gary, Joplin; two sons, Gerald Capps, Erie, Kan., and Allan Capps, Wichita, Kan.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Powers Cemetery, near Diamond, Mo. Larry Carlisle, Minister, will officiate. The pallbearers will be the great-grandsons and honorary pallbearer will be Jamie Hatfield.
