Ivy Blair (nee Godbey) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 17, 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenna and Pearl (Silket) Godbey; sisters, Inez (Robert) Baker, Irene (Robert) Fetterman, Florence (Kenneth) Morris; and brothers, Walter (Ruby) Godbey and Waldo (Marylou) Godbey.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved family, sons, David (Kathy) Friend and Russell Blair (Karen); daughters, Cheryl Blair and Sandra (Charles) Goldfuss; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grand-children; and countless extended family and friends.

Ivy was a near lifelong member of the Akron Baptist Temple, beginning her walk with Jesus Christ at the Reimer Road school services over 65 years ago at the age of 17. She graduated from Barberton High School in 1941, married and began raising her family. She was employed for 10 years at Valleyview Nursing Home as a housekeeper, giving aid and comfort to residents and their families. An accomplished seamstress, she created works of art through her quilting and crochet talents. She also enjoyed bowling and watching the Cleveland Indians play baseball. Mom, you have left a void in our hearts that can never be filled. We love you...until we meet again.

Services will be held 1 P.M. THURSDAY at the Bokas Funeral Home, 3653 W. Market St., Fairlawn, with Pastor Mike Prebynski officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. WEDNESDAY.
