Betty (Eckhart) Baracco, 77, of Welden Drive, Windham, beloved wife of Andre Baracco, died Sunday, (April 13, 2008) at Windham Hospital after a courageous battle with Cancer.

She was born December 23, 1930 in Watonga, OK, daughter of the late Robert G. and Mildred (Bliss) Eckhart. She graduated from Simsbury High School and moved to Manchester when she was married. After retiring she moved to Kissimmee, FL for several years and then settled in Windham. Betty was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a foster mom, devoted to taking care of many children and had been lovingly caring for her husband since his stroke in 2002. Betty's surgeon remarked on her strong will and desire to live and she refused to pass on the day of her 50th wedding anniversary, Saturday, April 12.

Besides her husband of 50 years, she is survived by two sons, and daughters-in-law, Jean and Diane Baracco of Windham and Adrien and Susan Baracco of Kennebunkport, ME; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Glenna and Harry Misunas of Watertown, Arla Collette of Albuquerque, NM; Neoma Oksys of Windsor and Sharon and Roger Smalley of Hampton; three grandchildren, Remy Baracco of Port Royal, SC and Adam and Carly Baracco of Kennebunkport, ME and several nieces and nephews.
