Phyllis received her education in the Baltimore City School System, where she graduated from Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School. Upon completion of her education, she worked at Keswick Nursing Home for several years. Phyllis then worked in the Baltimore City School System in Food Services for several years.
Phyllis was fun loving and enjoyed life to the fullest. As her nieces were growing up, Phyllis was always available to baby-sit and would give them anything she had. She was a true diva back in the day, and fancied herself to be a model.
She met her life long companion, William Purefoy, twenty years ago and they shared everything.
Phyllis leaves to mourn, two devoted daughters, Tiffany Eldridge and Taylor Purefoy, and one loving son, Michael Johnson, one granddaughter, Breonna Taylor, who loved her "Nana" very much; a devoted companion, William Purefoy, two sisters, Patricia Johnson and Barbara Wilson; two brothers-in-law, Virgie Johnson and Kenneth Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.
