Ethel Mae Alderman, 88, of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Alderman was born in Carroll County, VA, to the late William & Iowa Goad Newman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kiley Alderman, and a daughter, Delores Smith. Mrs. Alderman is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law, William Fred & Bonnie Alderman, and Tommy & Carolyn Alderman, all of Hillsville; son-in-law, Perry Smith, of Hillsville; five grandchildren, P.J. Smith, Alex Smith, Fara Bourne, Scott Alderman and Travis Alderman; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2008, at Vaughan-GuynnMcGrady Chapel with Pastor Ron Kronk officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday night, April 19, 2008, from 6 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fairview Presbyterian Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
