-IN DEATH
Hiram W. Cotts, Payne county resident who moved here in 1889, died at his home, 11 miles east of Stillwater on December 22, 1938.
Funeral services were to be held at the Methodist church in Ingalls on Saturday, December 24, at 2 p.m. Services will be read by the Reverend Fred Courtney, and the Strode funeral home in Stillwater will be in charge of the burial.
Mr. Cotts was born to Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Cotts at Republic county, Kansas on January 24, 1872. Cotts moved to Payne county in 1889 and was married to Miss Maggie Vinas in Stillwater in 1899. Cotts, as a Payne county pioneer, was here at the time of the famous Doolin gang fight in Ingalls.
Mr. Cotts is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sara Cotts, four sons, and two daughters. They are Charles Cotts of Delta, Colo.; George Cotts, Russell, Kans.; William Cotts, Sweetwater, and Bert Cotts, Glencoe. Mrs. Blanche Boyd, Mehan, Oklahoma and Mrs. Henry Ellington of Lenapoh, Oklahoma, are the daughters.
Cotts has not living brothers or sisters and was blessed with twelve children.
