Emilio father of Cameron Diaz died suddenly early this morning due to complications from the flu which turned into pneumonia.
He was 58 years old and in good health. Emilio worked as an oil foreman, he was a second generation Cuban-American. He had a small part in his daughter's film "There's Something About Mary" as "Jailbird." Emilio and his wife Billie were married for nearly 40 years they had two daughters Cameron and Chimene they lived in Seal Beach, California.
Funeral services were held Sunday 4/20/08.
The funeral crowd wore Hawaiian shirts, sunglasses and leis, a tribute family members thought the fun-loving Diaz would have wanted.
The laid-back, life-celebrating memorial was held at Mahe, a sushi restaurant in Seal Beach, California.
Instead of flowers, the Diaz family asked mourners to donate to the conservation foundations Surfrider.org or Reefcheck.org which protect and rehabilitate oceans and beaches around the world.
