She was a special person who loved not only her family and friends but everyone who crossed her path of 96 years. During her many years she also shared the love of the Lord with all of her family and friends. She will be missed greatly by all.
Virgil Estelle Hardin, of Odessa, was born December 8, 1911, in Hopkins City, Texas to John Columbus Vickers and Lela Dot Smith.
Mrs. Hardin was preceded in death by a son, C.W. VanZandt; and three grandchildren, Naylan C. VanZandt, Leslie R. Lynn and Terrie L. McGill.
She is survived by five children, Donald and wife, Pat VanZandt of Whitesboro, Texas, Nancy Farris of Odessa, Texas, Betty June Wells of Odessa, Texas, Tex Ann and husband, Robert Templeton of Hartshorne, Oklahoma, and Donna Nance of Odessa, Texas. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Don Fankhauser officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Home Hospice of Odessa or to a Charity of choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
