John Henry is the son of Thomas R. Porter b.1820 Ga.- d. 1848 AL. & Rebecca F. (Burnley) Porter, married 12/4/1837 in Montgomery Co. AL. John is the youngest of three children; Mary Ann, Samuel B. & then John Henry. Rebecca married widower William Sheppard in AL. after the death of Thomas and she moved to Texas with her 3 children (Mary Ann, Samuel B. & John Henry) and her new husband and his children. We are still looking for the final resting place for Rebecca (Burnley) Porter Sheppard & her son Samuel B. Porter. SE 3/5/2020.
