JOSEPH AMMAN, 83, PASSED MONDAY
Joseph Amman, 83, died at the St. Francis Home in Saginaw Monday, Dec. 24, 1962, following a long illness. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church with Rev. Fr. Julius J. Amman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. He may be seen at Morse Funeral Chapel where rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Amman was born Sept. 7, 1879, in Maple Grove Township and lived all of his life in Saginaw County. On April 8, 1902, he married Anna Tietz in Albee. She preceded him in death on Aug. 30, 1959. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and of the Holy Name Society and the Third Order of Dominic. Mr. Amman was a retired farmer and came to Chesaning 16 years ago from Maple Grove. He leaves seven sons and five daughters, Edward and Albert of Ferndale, Michigan; Fr. Julius J. of Portland, Michigan; Bernard of Pontiac; Brother Armand C.S.C. of Evansville, Ind., Paul of Maple Grove; Richard of Merrill, Wis.; Mrs. Edith Labick of Flint; Mrs. Cecilia Prieur of Maple Grove; Mrs. Rita Herman of Flint; Mrs. Helen Gentile of Burt; and Mrs. Josephine Cosco of Whitesboro, New York; 53 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Anna Wrocklage of Maple Grove.
