Luther R. Gordon, 83, Expires at Hospital; Final Rites Thursday

Monticello - Final rites for Luther R. Gordon, 83, of Idaville, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home. The Rev. John deal will officiate and burial will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery at Chalmers. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

His death occurred at 10:30 p.m. Monday at White County Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for two years.

Born in Howard county on May 30, 1881, he was the son of Adam and Mary Moss Gordon. His marriage in 1904 was to Ada Hendryx, who died Dec 25, 1963. He moved to Idaville in 1929 from Chalmers.

He was a member of Cloverdale Methodist Church, near Russiaville.

Survivors are a son, Donald, of Warsaw; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Fieser of South Bend, Mrs. Thelma Winegardner of Idaville and Mrs. Lucille Saylor of Burnettsville; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Jane LaRue of Oakland, Calif.
