Asheville - Elizabeth "Libby" Barber McKeehan, 87, died Thursday July 18, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital in Asheville.

She was born May 31, 1915 in Gibsonville, NC, the only child of the late Littlejohn T. Barber and Bertha Jones Barber. The family moved to Palmetto, Fla. in 1921, where she graduated from high school. Thereafter she attended Stetson University in Deland, Fla. She them moved to Miami where she pursued a career as a legal secretary. She was a charter member of The American Business Women Association, Hurricane Chapter, and served as President for one year. After her retirement she moved to the Asheville area in 1989.

She is survived by cousins and many friends.

A service of remembrance will be held at 6:00 PM Friday in the chapel of Brigman's Funeral Service in Black Mountain with the Reverend Dr. Melba Banks officiating. Burial will be in the Palmetto City Cemetery in Palmetto, Fla.
