TEMPE, Ariz. – Services for Juanita Marietta Martinez, 44, will be at 10 a.m., today, March 31, 2008 at Black Mountain Mission. Fr. Blane Grien, OFM, will officiate. Burial will follow at the Black Mountain Cemetery.

Martinez died March 2, 2008 in Joseph City, Ariz. He was born Aug. 3, 1963 into the Tangle People Clan for the Coyote Pass People Clan.
Martinez worked for NTUA in Chinle and Wells Fargo in Tempe. She received her AA degree from Navajo Community College in Tsaile and also went to school at Fort Collins University in Fort Collins, Colo.

Survivors include her son Drew Martinez of Tempe; daughter Victoria Martinez of Tempe; mother Susie Begay of Black Mountain; brother Larry Gene Begay of Black Mountain; sisters Genevieve Begay of Cottonwood, Ariz., Julie Begay Sandoval, Bernita Begay, both of Farmington.

She was preceded in death by her husband Uhl Martinez; father Eugene Begay; sister Virginia Begay and one sister Louise McCurtain.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Tso, LeManual James, John Carley, Stephen Burbank, Drew Martinez and Larry G. Begay.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Black Mountain Mission following services.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
