Rev. Edgar Beaver, 77, pastor of the Barnscall Freewill Baptist Church, died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at his home in Barnsdall following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Barnsdall Freewill Paptist Church with Mr. Rick Loggins of the Barnsdall Freewill Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Ethel Reece Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home in Barnsdal. Beaver will lie in state at the Barnsdall Freewill Baptist Church from noon to eight on Monday and nine till service time Tuesday.
A memorial has been established with the Barnsdall Freewill Baptist Church, P.O. gox 328, Barnsdall, Oklahoma 74002 for those who wish to donate in his memory.
Edgar was born on February 25, 1931 the son of Daniel and Betty (Alexander) Beaver. He married Charlene Connolly on July 2, 1950 at the Okmulgee Indian Baptist Church. He had been the Pastor of Five different churches having served in Barnsdall for the last twenty years. He had also worked for the Archer's Cleaners for many years retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Barnsdall Ministerial Alliance, the Barnsdall American Legion where he served as Chaplin and the Tulsa Area Association of Freewill Baptists where he served as moderator.
Edgar is survived by his wife Charlene of the home, one son Michael Lee Beaver of Barnsdall, one daughter Sheryl Ann Russell and her husband Dr. Tracy Russell of Bartlesville, one brother Clarence D. Beaver of Belton, Texas and one grandson Trevor Wayne Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Norma Jean, one brother and one sister.
