Funeral services for Helen Marie Wilson, 77, Lawrence, were Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial was in Lone Elm Cemetery near Garnett. Mrs. Wilson died Sunday, June 11, 2006, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 3, 1929, in Lawrence, the daughter of Cecil D. and Ethel May Ross Amyx. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1947. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Kansas University. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She married Alexander H. Wilson on Jan. 25, 1952, in Kincaid. He died Aug. 10, 1997. Survivors include a son, Eric Wilson, Falls Church, Va.; a brother, Tom M. Amyx, Lawrence; and three grandchildren. Visitation Thursday at the mortuary.
