Fannie Harriet Love Robbins was born to Charles Nelson and Fila Rhobe Tower Love in Sinclairville, Chautauqua County, NY. She attended Sinclairville Agricultural High School and graduated as President of the Senior Class. In the early 20s her family moved to Syracuse, NY where she attended and graduated from Syracuse University, as did her brothers Charles Tower Love and Harold Dunbar Love. Her sister Minerva I. Tower graduated from Fredonia Normal School for teacher training that is now The State University of New York at Fredonia. Fannie began her working career as a county home economics and 4H advisor in Cooperstown, NY. After her marriage in 1929, she and her husband William Agustus Robbins moved to Islip, Long Island, NY. When her husband passed away in 1948, she became a 2nd grade teacher in the Hauppauge, New York School District for many years until her retirement. Fannie enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world, particularly on cruise ships and freighters. At the time of her passing, she was loved by her son, grandchildren, nieces and nephews with whom she was like a second mother, and many friends in New York and around the world.
