In the 1930 census he was living with his daughter-in-law Minnie Allen in San Gabriel, Los Angeles. He was listed as widowed and retired. He and Maggie had the following known children: Lillian (Lillian is not mentioned in wife's obituary), Leland, Charles W. and Carroll H. Allen. He married secondly Minnie Arnold.
