Gracemary Schaefer, 69, of Valentine Dr., North Syracuse, NY, died Friday at University Hospital, Syracuse, NY. Born in Hoboken, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Irene (Brady) Durstewitz. Survived by her husband, James Schaefer; one daughter, Kathleen Merdock of Baldwinsville, NY; two sons, Michael of Clay, NY, Patrick of Tampa, FL; one brother, Anthony Durstewitz of Middletown, NJ; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at SEARS-MIDDLETON- JONES Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street (Rt. 11), North Syracuse. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima, 409 S. Main Street, North Syracuse. Interment will be Tuesday in North Syracuse Cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be sent to East Syracuse Kiwanis Club, PO Box 655, E. Syracuse, NY 13057.
