Lois Allison, 86

Lois L. Allison, 86, of Millersburg, died Thursday morning, Jan. 6, 2005, at Pomerene Hospital, after a short illness. She was born Dec. 7, 1918, in Holmes County to Charles S. and Zada (Skelly) Uhl and married C.W. Allison in 1939. They were married for 61 years. He died March 16, 2000. She was a 1938 graduate of Millersburg High School and attended Ohio State University. She had worked at Krogers in Orrville, Maxwell Clothing Store and Logsdon Hatchery, in Millersburg. She was a member of Welcome Church of Christ and was a former member of Faith Lutheran Church. She was also a member and past president of Millersburg American Legion Post 192, Ladies Auxiliary and was a volunteer for the Red Cross Bloodmobile as a scheduler. She enjoyed reading, sewing and crocheting items for the Holmes County Home and for family and friends. Surviving are a daughter, Nancy (Harold) Ackert of California City, Calif.; five grandchildren; numerous great - grandchildren; her care giver, Georgianna Cool of Millersburg; and friends, Ruby Martin and Maribba Martin, both of Millersburg. In addition to her husband, a son, Joel Allison, her parents and a brother died previously. Graveside services were Tuesday, Jan. 11 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Millersburg, with Pastor Dan Gault officiating. Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, handled arrangements. The family suggests contributions be made to Holmes County Home, 7260 State Route 83 N., Holmesville 44633.
