Mrs. Christy, County Pioneer, Dies Tuesday
Mrs. Artensia Christy, 94, of Sparks, Lincoln county pioneer, died at the home of her daughter near Stroud early Tuesday morning.**
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday from the Assembly of God church at Sparks, Rev. Aggie James of Sparks, assisted by Eld er J.G. Cansler, will officiate.
Burial will be at White Dove cemetery at Sparks. Curry Funeral home is directing arrangements.
Mrs. Christy was born on February 15, 1857. She and her husband homesteaded in 1891 on the property where the White Dove cemetery is now located. It was originally established as the Christy cemetery, but the name was later changed to White Dove.
** Note that Artensia's obituary in the Chandler News-Publicist, 12 Apr 1951, page 3, states that she died at the home of her son, Ira, of Stroud, OK.
