MANKATO — Elaine Simmet, 74, of Mankato died Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato. Private graveside family services will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm. There will be no reviewal or visitation.Elaine is survived by her husband, Linus Simmet of Mankato; daughter and son-in-law, Chris and Robert Freyberg of North Mankato; grandchildren, Rebecca Verr and her husband, Robert of Lakeville, Bryan Freyberg and his fiancée, Meryl Lucchesi of Carlton; great-grandchildren, Bailey Verr and Bobby Verr; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wallace and Lillian Pechtel of Sebring, Florida, Dennis and Elaine Pechtel of New Ulm; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.Elaine Frances Pechtel was born on February 15, 1934 in New Ulm to George and Anne (Altmann) Pechtel. On May 20, 1953 she was united in marriage to Linus Simmet at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.
