The father of Harietta and Solomon Jumper is George W. Jumper. The mother, Minerva Seaman, died one month after Solomon was born. No one has identified the correct cemetery where she is buried.
There is no trace of the family on the 1870 census, but in 1880 Harriet A. and Solomon E. are living with their grandparents, William R. and Druceily Seaman in Troy, Monroe, IA.

Colorado Celtic adds further:
I show that Solomon's mother, Minerva Jane Seaman Jumper died in March of 1870 from peritonitis in Audubon County, Iowa (north of Monroe County). This is from the U.S. Federal census Mortality schedules. I have not found another Minerva Jumper dying anywhere else in a several year date range. I realize Sol's gravestone says he was born in 1871, but it has to be in 1870.
