Burial follows in City of Levelland Cemetery under the direction of George Price Funeral Home in Levelland.
Born Oct. 14, 1924, he was the son of Johnnie Robert and Ethel Barker. He excelled in track and football.
In 1943 he married Johnnie Mankin; she preceded him in death.
He married Carolyn in 1981 and they combined their children into one family. Mr. Barker worked for Amoco for 34 years and then worked for United Wells. He will be missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; his parents; sisters Jo Wallace, Juanita Green and Julia Rhea Roberts —who joined him in heaven on the same day; son-in-law Eddie Tienda and granddaughter Bryton Dobson.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn Barker; a brother, Johnnie Barker; children Mary and husband Bobby Andrews of Fort Worth, Steve and wife Jeri Barker of Big Spring, and Kathy and husband Richard Crawford, Amee and husband Scott Dobson, LeAnn and husband Anthony Estrada, Kim Gafford, all of Levelland; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and an innumerable number of lives he touched.Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Lubbock.To leave online condolences, visit www.mem.com
