Balzer Rites Held Thursday

Funeral services for Henry Balzer, 92, of the Hooker community, who died at Epworth hospital in Liberal, Kans, Sunday, were held Thursday at the M. B. church southeast of Hooker.

Balzer a resident south of Hooker for 40 years died of shock and injuries sustained in an auto accident early Sunday eight miles south of Hooker.

He was a passenger in an auto driven by his son, John V. Balzer, 54, of Hooker. It was in collision with another vehicle drive by Hubert D. Voth, 43, of Hooker. The young Balzer was released from Epworth hospital Wednesday. Both, was being treated after regaining consciousness.

Survivors beside Balzers son, John, are four other sons, Jake and Abe of Hooker, Henry of Enid and Pete, a missionary in India, and a daughter living in Callifornia.
