Paul J. Aguilar, 67, of West Lafayette, died at 5 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2008, at his residence.
Born May 21, 1940, in Gary, he was the son of the late Jesus and Josephine Martinez Aguilar.
He married Sharan Bunnell on Nov. 4, 1961, in Gary, and she survives.
Mr. Aguilar worked at Wilco Grocery, later known at Ralph's Grocery, in Gary, for 35 years. He then moved to Florida and worked at Winn-Dixie for five years, retiring in 2003.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, Paul Aguilar Jr. (wife: Dalal) of Lake Station and James Aguilar of West Lafayette; two daughters, Nancy Aguilar of West Lafayette and Tammy Aguilar Thomas (husband: Bruce) of Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers, Robert Aguilar (wife: Nikki) of Valparaiso, Thomas Aguilar (wife: Christine) and Anthony Aguilar (wife: Rose), both of Gary, and Joseph Aguilar (wife: Carol) of Hebron; and three sisters, Jessie Gomez (husband: Martin) of Gary, Mary Ann Torres of Portage and Irene Rosas (husband: Jose Jr.) of Merrillville.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. and rosary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway W. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Thursday at Church of the Blessed Sacrament, West Lafayette, Father David Douglas officiating. Interment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette.
