Funeral Services Held Wednesday for Mrs Raulerson

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3:30 in the afternoon for Mrs. Mamie Raulerson, 69, prominent Okeechobee resident, who died Tuesday. Elder Will Harden, pastor of the Primitive Baptist church directed the service and he was assisted by Elder Van Lightsey. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery. Mrs. Raulerson has been in ill health for the past three weeks and when her condition became serious last Thursday night, she was removed to the Louisiana Raulerson hospital. A virus condition was the cause of death at 8:15 Tuesday night. Born in Basinger, she married Milledge Raulerson on March 24, 1900. They owned property on Potter Road and Mrs Raulerson maintained a home there even after her husband's death in 1923. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist church here. Survivors include four sons, Arthur and Hubert of Okeechobee, Ray of Pahokee and Lee of Belle Glade; a daughter, Mrs Linwood Smith of Lake Village, Ark., who arrived in Okeechobee Sunday; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Harry Chandler of Basinger and Carl Chandler of Tampa; four sisters, Mrs Ida King and Mrs Stella Wiley of Fort Pierce; Mrs Eva Hawker of Bradenton and Mrs Miriam Smith of Immokalee. Serving as active pallbearers were Robert Arnold, R M Durrance, Albert Harden, Hezekiah Harden, Dozier Raulerson and Roy Draughon. (Re: Diane Bryan)
