Robert B. Albin, 87, of Villa Grove, died at 7:40 p.m. Thursday (March 6, 2008) at the Newman Rehab and Health Care Center, Newman.

He was born May 8, 1920 in rural Camargo to William and Lydia Kearns Albin. He was preceded in death by one son, David, three brothers, two sisters and his parents.

He married Marian Cravens Oct, 7, 1943. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Bill Albin of Champaign and Robert Albin of Villa Grove; one daughter, Barb Albin of Normal; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Albin of Tuscola and two sisters, Rosemary Woods of Champaign and Nina Hart of West Lafayette, Indiana.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World war II. He served at Midway Island, Panama and Hawaii.
