Lois was born April 27, 1922 in Chandler, Oklahoma the daughter of Floyd and Ruby Soderstrom and graduated from Chandler High School in 1940. During World War II, she was a "Rosie the Riveter" working at the Boeing Aircraft plant in Wichita, Kansas where she met Mont McAllister.
Lois and Mont were married on April 20, 1945 in Perry, Oklahoma and made their home in Dodge City, Kansas where they were successful business owners. Mont died March 5, 1968 following a lengthy illness and Lois remained in Dodge City until 1981 when she moved to Casper, Wyoming and from Casper to Meeker, Oklahoma in 1989.
Survivors include two daughters, Jann Jones of Salina, Kansas and Pat Ralph of Dodge City, five sisters, Vera Curtis of Denver, Colorado, Esta Lauderback of Riverton, Wyoming, Helen Thomason of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Laura Glasspoole of Casper, Wyoming and Hazel Harned of Dodge City, three brothers, Floyd Soderstrom of Chandler, Walden Soderstrom of Prague, Oklahoma and John Soderstrom of Ponca City, four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family hosted a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 30 at Providence Baptist Church in Ponca City with the Reverend Steve Harden, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held Tuesday at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City, Kansas. Arrangements were under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel, Ponca City.
