Marcia was the beloved daughter of Ben F. Lyles, Jr. and Anjette Donavan Lyles. She was poisoned by her mother Anjette, who also murdered her father, Ben F. Lyles,Jr., her paternal grandmother Julia Young Lyles, and a second husband. She was survived by her sister Carla and an Uncle Joe Lyles. She was buried next to her maternal grandfather, William Donovan. Her mother was tried for their mother's and died in Central State Hospital in Milledgeville, Georgia at the age of 52.
