Janice L. Mankin, age 69, of Trumbull, died Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Tiffany Square in Grand Island.
Services were held Monday, February 11, 2008 at Butler-Volland Chapel with Reverend Jack Sample officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull. Mrs. Mankin was born May 24, 1938 in Gibbon, to Frederick and Sylvia (Smith) Pember. She graduated from Kenesaw High School in 1956 and attended Bethany College in Oklahoma for one year. She moved back to the area and worked for Sears in Hastings.
On January 4, 1964, Janice married Stanley Mankin in Gibbon. She was a homemaker and helped on the farm. She was very nonjudgmental of people and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley Mankin, of Trumbull; daughter and son-in-law, of Omaha; sons and daughter-in-law, of Grand Island, and son, of Trumbull; 4 grandchildren; sister, of Minden; and many nieces and nephews.
