He was born at Sardis, OH, February 4, 1863, son of Elias & Hannah Hoffman Adams. He was a farmer by occupation. He lived in Belpre for the past 30 years, moving there from New England, WV. He was a member of the Mullen Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Nettie Moore and Roberta Hunter, both of Belpre, and Nancy Mechem, Washington, D.C.; two sons, Charles V. Adams of Beverly, OH, and Robert O. Adams of Belpre; a number of nieces and nephews; 22 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
His wife Urilda Massey Adams and two children; Rachel and Norman preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m Monday at the Mullen Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. H. L. Underwood officiating. Burial will be in the Rockland Cemetery. The body will be taken from the Leavitt Funeral Home to the church at 9 a.m.
