Alexander Boteler,Sr. was the son of Captain Henry Boteler and Sarah Ellen (Elsby) Boteler. He was born in Maryland and died in Morgan County, Alabama.
Alexander became the second husband of Elizabeth Hackney Philpott on Jan 19, 1792. He became guardian of Elizabeth's son Horatio Philpott.
