Minerva's siblings were Margaret Ann (Eoff)Long, Elizabeth Jane (Eoff) Defoe, Mary Ellen (Eoff) Stephenson, Richard Eoff (d.y.), George W Eoff and John Turner Eoff. Minerva was born and raised in St Louis County, Missouri where her father was a farmer and blacksmith.
Minerva married John B Ammann, a native of Prussia, May 11, 1864 in St Louis County, Missouri. They were the parents of two children, Lorena (Ammann) Delahunt and George W Ammann. John B Ammann had at least two children from a previous marriage. He died before 1880 and Minerva raised her stepchildren as well as her children in St Louis. For a time she operated a barber shop with her stepson, John Ammann, serving as barber. In her later years she lived with her son-in-law and daughter, John J and Lorena Delahunt.
