Elwayne Gale passed away at his home on Feb. 16, 2008.

Elwayne was born April 22, 1938 in Bluebell. He was the fifth child born to Jesse M Gale and Edith Bird Gale. He received his education in Altamont and Tooele and worked in Salt Lake City for a while before getting married in 1957 to Barbara Wray. They were married 19 years and had two children, Delrie and Carla, before their divorce in 1976. Later he and Sheryl Gardner were married and had two children, Darren and Brady. Elwayne loved his kids and taught them the importance of hard work. He was very industrious and a hard worker, a "jack of all trades." He built three homes that he lived in over the years, ran a 42-acre farm and a trailer park. Through out his lifetime Elwayne acquired many skills. He was very resourceful and could do just about anything.

Elwayne retired from Questar Gas, after working for many years for Utah Gas Service. He lived in Vernal for more than 46 years. He was a home teacher and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Elwayne had a kind heart, great sense of humor and was a honest person. He loved his brothers and sisters and the time they spent together. Barry and Elwayne and their friends were "regulars" at the coffee shop and enjoyed the times when Floyde joined them. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time out doors.

He is survived by sons, Delrie (Jo Jo) Gale, Darren Gale, and Brady Gale both of Vernal, Utah; daughter, Carla (Jim) Moore; one grandson and two granddaughters in New Orleans, La.; brothers and sisters, Lorraine (Elmer) Saxton of Salt Lake City; Lois (Dale) Dahms; Phyllis (Dan) Turner; Barry Gale of Vernal; Clyde (Colleen) Gale of Rock Springs, Wyo.; Floyde (Pat) Gale of Dutch John; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by parents, Jesse and Edith Gale; sister, Lenna Black; two nieces and three nephews.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Burial will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
