My uncle Dewey Edwin Adkins married Nannabelle Phillips and they had three children, with a grand daughter Ashley LeeAnn dieing at birth. He was the son of Dewey Woodrow [Earl] Adkins and Peachie Miller he worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps known as[ CCC ] The .CCC enrolles worked 40 hours a week and were paid $30 a month, with the requirement that $25 of that be sent home to family. Members lived in camps, wore uniforms, and lived under quasi-military discipline. Later in life he was employed as an electrician. At some point in his life he was known to be legally blind.
