Ruth was the daughter of William David and Kitty Boulware Neher. She married Henry L. Beach on August 16, 1930. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1991.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and one brother

She is survived by one daughter, Peggy (Don) Scharfenberg; one son, Philip (Marge) Beach; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was born to a family whose early service was to the Dunkard church until they settled in Chenoa and joined the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Beach remained active in church activities in Sterling and Macomb, belonged to the Chenoa Historical Society and Illinios Retired Teachers. She enjoyed playing bridge and celebrated her 100th birthday with a party last year.

Ruth began teaching after 2 years of college at ISU and continued her education at NIU where she received her BS in 1962. She retired from teaching in the Sterling Public Schools after 35 years, a combined 75 years as educators with her husband.

Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of the arrangements.
